The Sanity Squad: Know Thine Enemy![]() This week the Squad discusses enemies foreign and domestic. Can radical Islam be moderated into coexistence with the West? Maybe i have been living under a rock, but I am unaware of any socialist modeled country that is generating wealth. I personally think Chavez is the devil himself. But my opinions don't mean #$%$. John in Cincinnati :I don't have a specific comment; I just want to say that I enjoy the "Sanity Squad" very much, and I hope you'll continue making the program. Radical Islam is a reaction to centuries of Western oppression. Islamists did their own oppressing everywhere they marched. I am mostly disturbed that they oppress their own people a kind of male tribalism which exists because of religious indoctrination. You call Chavez of Venezuela a terrorist. Why? Because Chavez in Venezuela took a much harder line towards the oil companies. He’s in a difficult situation leading a country with a limited range of resources, no middle class, huge issues with poverty, health, and education, and a small elite rich that doesn’t want to pay tax to cure the issues. Chavez expects the country’s oil profits to provide a solution. This, more than anything else, makes him a terrorist in Washington. Heros in America are thos e who sell out their people.
