The Glenn and Helen Show: Mark Warner on Politics, Family, and the Future

Mark Warner looked to be the strongest Democratic contender for President in 2008 except for Hillary Clinton.

We’d been slated to interview him when he decided not to run. We talk to Warner about that decision, about the state of politics today, and about what he’ll do next.

We also discuss anti-terrorism, the Democrats’ problems with flyover country, and the importance of alternative energy. Plus, an interruption by Jimmy Carter!

Ed from PA :

I found Mark's comments on global competitiveness and alternative energy sources to be refershing. Addtionally, his thoughts on the state of the current vitriolic political landscape were spot on.
We need to realize that being competitive globally does not neessarily mean carrying the biggest stick or offering the tastiest carrot. Reducing our dependency on foreign sources of energy, manufacturing, capitol and innovation will serve to only strengthen our leadership position.

Al :

If he thinks the reason we are in Iraq is "oil", then he is a moonbat. It's great he doesn't immediately discount nuclear power, but this guy seems a little nutty.

Why vote for him if the original is available, Thomas Freidman? Weak.
