Mike is "energized", and says there's apparently more positive going on than commanders are reporting, even more than he sees and reports. The Plan is "coming together" faster than he thought possible. Petraeus is "exceptional".

I told you so. At least, I've been saying this for months, and predicting Petraeus would absolutely sandbag the critics. The man is out-thinking AQI, and AQDC, 5 ways from Sunday. Head for cover, Reilosi. Your time has come.

Beware of catastrophic success! I think Gen P knows exactly what he's doing.

There's a book called the "Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference". It's a book by Malcolm Gladwell.

Most people including me have no idea what the Tipping Point means. You can't tell by the title.

This is a great example of a tipping point in a social epidemic, what Gladwell was talking about.

I highly recommend you read the book or listen to the 3-CD audio book. It's very mind-awakening.

And I think Petraeus has read it... or understands the principles. You can find a way too short, but still good, summary of the main principles here on Wikipedia.

*had no idea... obviously I understand the basic ideas now

How to CREATE a positive social epidemic is another thing. That requires connectors, mavens, and salesmen. And, in this case, soldiers.
