The Glenn and Helen Show: Jonah Goldberg on Hillary, Huckabee, and Liberal Fascism

goldbergcov.jpgIt’s sure to make a splash, and it’s already got some left bloggers in a tizzy even though it doesn’t come out until next week. It’s Jonah Goldberg’s new book, Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning. The title comes from H.G. Wells, and the history won’t be news to people who’ve paid attention — which means it will be news to a lot of people, but Goldberg has a lot to say about the “progressive” roots of both socialism and fascism and the way they’re reflected in contemporary politics. Plus, thoughts on the Hillary and Huckabee candidacies.

Great interview with Jonah. This book should be required reading for college students.

Great interview. I'll admit the cover and title had me put off, since they made the book look like an attack-dog fluff piece, a la Coulter. On the contrary, Jonah's remarks were intriguing enough that I've just ordered a copy.

I hope he's giving you two a commission. :)

Very interesting socio-political commentary. I was put off by the cover as well, but the conversation recording was great. I ordered the book because I have been studying HG Wells and this is essentially inspired Wells.

As for the liberals who hate any free speech that is critical of them, I refer to the axiom, "scratch a liberal, find a facist"...
